Stories on Carolina Week
During the three years involved in Carolina Week, I worked as a reporter, anchor, show director and technical director for the live show. As a show director, I was in charge of leading 15 crew members to make sure we put on a smooth and successful broadcast. Directing showed me the
behind-the-scenes of putting a live news show together and
making sure it looks good on-screen. It required supervising each reporter, leading a team and making quick decisions in the control room.
As a reporter, I worked as a one person band to produce, shoot and edit news packages. My coursework and experiences with Carolina Week gave me the skills needed to meet the demand of on-air television broadcasting, such as working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
