About Me

I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, where I learned firsthand the impact journalists had as the country's political landscape really started to shift and freedom of the press began to dwindle. I can remember watching the local news with my mom, eyes glued to the set as we learned about the latest coup attempt or government overreach. Our only source of reliable information came from a small group of reporters, and I remember thinking how one day, I wanted to gain that level of trust and respect.

My parents, brother and I moved to South Florida to start a new life (and learn a new language!) My parents were also born in Venezuela to Italian parents, so I was raised in a very "wordly" home that cultivated in me a passion for experiencing different cultures and its people. From a young age I've had the ability to easily connect with others. That gift, coupled with passion, is what makes me a great journalist and storyteller.

I had the opportunity to study at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where I was trained by some of the best journalism professors and news leaders in the nation.

I'm fortunate to be able to do what I love every day. The people I've met, connections shared and experiences gained have helped shape me into the reporter I am today. I hope to continue this journey and grow more each day.
